Friday Random/Genius Ten

We’re, um, kickin’ it old school this Friday. *ducks*

This week’s list is inspired by Kurtis Blow’s magnum opus, “The Breaks.”

1. Sucka MCs – Run-DMC
2. So Fresh, So Clean – Outkast
3. Don’t Say Nuthin’ – The Roots
4. I Left My Wallet In El Segundo – A Tribe Called Quest
5. The Jump Off – Lil Kim (wtf, iTunes?)
6. What’s It Gonna Be?! – Busta ft. Janet Jackson
7. White Lines – Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 (but really, Melle Mel)
8. ASAP – T.I.
9. Takeover – Jay-Z
10. Going Back to Cali – LL Cool J

I love the video for #10 (and yes, I know it’s all kinds of problematic), so here it is. So avant-garde!

Martha Quinn and all them white gurrls is problematic?
Or is the saxophone player’s support for The Georgetown Hoyas?

LOL, I was thinking more along the lines of the upskirt shots and the obvious objectification of women. I kind of dig that it’s all white girls tho… LL was an equal opportunity employer.

but he objectified himself as well…

        ….ok maaaybe
i never truly noticed any of that with my focus on LL

    I see
And now that you’ve pointed it out, this video was a gateway drug to the world of Cinemax latenight with all of those gratuitous shots of the women.

Sorry to bypass the discussion on the video, but that list is gold Jerry, GOLD! (Except for ASAP and Takeover, cause I am a straight hater :))
